Malaysia's Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong jointly launched Afiniti Medini, the urban wellness project, and Avira, the resort wellness project, both which will be located in Medini, Iskandar Malaysia.
Both leaders officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony of Afiniti Medini. Significant investments are coming from Singapore into Iskandar Malaysia. There will be opportunities for Singapore Companies relocating or setting up new companies in Iskandar Malaysia, thus creating a new investments in Iskandar. Investment is coming in from Singapore and within the other regions.
Wellness, which the core product offering of Afiniti Medini and Avira, is a response to the growing demand for the people in achieving a wellbalanced life.
Afiniti Medini, the urban wellness project, will be a regional destination for families, tourists and professionals who look to combine wellness, shopping, retail and hospitality as well as corporate training needs in a holistic package and experience.
Afiniti Medini is developed by Pulau Indah Ventures Sdn Bhd (PIV), a 50-50 venture between Khazanah Nasional Bhd and Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd, while Avira is developed by Nuri Merdu Sdn Bhd, a 50-50 joint-venture company between PIV and E&O Oriental Bhd.
Avira, which is a resort wellness project, will provide residents an experience of retreat-like lifestyle all year round, being surrounded by lush greenery completed in a 210-acre (RM84.98ha) development.
Afiniti Medini provides holistic experience through its five key offerings – a corporate training centre, serviced apartments, strata residences, wellness centre and a retail component.
Somerset Medini Iskandar serviced apartments, managed by Ascott, will provide quality hospitality services and a wellness centre while Parkway Pantai will bring to this development an integrated wellness centre which is the first of its kind in the region.
A retail component comprises speciality shops and food and beverage outlets that extends the wellness concept coherently through the development.
The strata residences are expected to be launched in the second-quarter of 2013 while Afiniti Medini is targeted to be completed by end-2015.
